The Great Garden AdventureThe Great Garden Adventure...is a free summer program that POINT offers for children age 3-7. These children, many of them living in apartment with no access to a garden, are able to take advantage of the community garden and participate in garden games and crafts and learn about topics such as butterflies, worms, and composting. This successful program served 97 children in the summer of 2009.
The children enjoy a lesson about worms and compost. Cathy, the presenter, teaches the kids about the Red Wrigglers and how their poop helps to make the plants big and strong!
The kids are making their own Red Wrigglers to put in their Compost Lunch Bag!
The kids get to hold some Red Wrigglers.
